Our company is based in Fano city in the region of Marche, in the middle of Italy east coast and we supply water treatment plants to our partners, distributors, agents, integrators, specialist water treatment system designers, installers, public sector institutions, industrial and agricultural end users, in Italy and abroad.
Over the last years the company’s expansion program has also regarded the Mediterranean area, currently including hundreds of plants with different capacities. OSMO SISTEMI water treatment plants are now operating in more than ten Mediterranean sea flooded countries – Spain, Italy, Albania, Greece, Cyprus, Turkey, Syria, Lebanon, Egypt, Libya, Tunisia, Malta, Algeria, Morocco.

The proposed technical solutions, depending on the raw water source – sea water open intake, beach wells, underground wells, lakes, rivers, municipal water - are tailored to clients' requirements and include the design of the plant important phases like: raw water pretreatment including disinfection, softening, filtration, chemical adjustment, etc., the reverse osmosis or ultrafiltration plant and permeate water post treatment. The assessment of the raw water quality usually forms the origin of the design of the pre-treatment system of a sea water reverse osmosis SWRO or brackish water reverse osmosis BWRO plant and an efficient and well-designed pretreatment system is necessary in order to assure a high performance, long term, reliable and low cost operation of the reverse osmosis R.O., ultrafiltration UF or resin units. Other technologies utilized for the raw water treatment are ion exchange, aeration and special filtration technologies for iron, manganese, arsenic, boron, hydrogen sulfite, organic matter, heavy metals, odour and bad taste removal.
In order to minimize fouling, scaling and membrane degradation the raw water pre-treatment systems are facing the removal of particulate matter such as silt, clay, suspended solids, biological slime, algae, silica, organic compounds, bacterial load, iron, manganese and oxidizing compounds such as chlorine employing filter media such as sand, anthracite, activated carbon, greensand, pirolusite and birm. For the removal of raw water total hardness ion exchange resins are utilized and for the raw/produced water disinfection sodium hypochlorite, chlorine dioxide, chlorine gas, UV radiation or ozonation are employed.
Our R.O. and UF systems are integrated with membrane chemical cleaning system CIP, cartridge safety filtration and chemical dosing sets for membranes' scaling control or raw water chemical adjustment. All our water treatment units are equipped with advanced control systems including programmable-logic controllers with RS 232/485, Ethernet and USB ports handling standard as well as specific protocols like Modbus, PROFIBUS, IEC 60870 and SNMP, color touch panels and monitors for human interface, mimic diagrams and SCADA systems. All RO or UF membranes, resins, or filtration media employed are innovative in order to ensure high performance, low pressure loss and high fouling resistance together with the high system's recovery. Additionally all pumping systems and plants' components selected are first class ensuring long performance, low maintenance need and high efficiency.
In order to optimize the plant power consumption special attention is paid in the selection of the plant’s pumping system. The seawater desalination plants are equipped with the latest generation high pressure pumps HPPs and energy recovery devices ERD (Turbocharger, Pelton wheel, Isobaric Pressure or Work Exchangers), using first quality and highly corrosion-resistant materials such as Duplex or Super Duplex stainless steels for piping and valving.
The permeate water post–treatment for drinking water applications includes as minimum the pH correction, its rehardening, Boron removal facilities if required and the treated water disinfection in order to comply with drinking water standards of World Health Organization WHO or local country drinking water standards.
OSMO SISTEMI S.r.l. delivers cost effective, reliable water treatment plants and services to municipal, industrial, commercial, agricultural and institutional customers worldwide. It is also involved or undertakes the full operation and maintenance of the sold plants through Build-Own and Operate (BOO), Build-Own-Operate-and Transfer (BOOT) and Operating and Maintenance (O & M) contracts. OSMO SITEMI offers targeted services and products with the flexibility to deliver a wider nonstandard range of products and services including technology-focused engineering services and full outsourced OPEX solutions. Almost all the offered plants are custom built to meet the clients' requirements. The plants may be packaged skid mounted, containerized or erected on site according to the client’s needs.

The filters’ tanks are available in GRP or carbon steel or stainless steel.
The carbon/stainless steel tanks are complete with bombed bottoms, manholes, supports, handles and bases.
The internal distribution systems are plates and / or diffusers.
The systems are equipped with control and command systems with manual valves or electric or pneumatic valves with electronic controls to make the filters operation fully automatic.
