We are one of the world’s major suppliers of salt.

Salt has been our business since 1918. Starting as Royal Dutch Salt Industries (KNZ) in the Netherlands, we first obtained our products by means of evaporation in open pans. The salt was dissolved in underground salt layers, formed hundred of millions of years ago. In 1926, we adopted the far more energy efficient method of vacuum evaporation. Around 1963 we extended our business by starting salt production in Denmark, to serve the Scandinavian markets as well.
