Calcium hypochlorite is an excellent disinfectant with a powerful oxidant capacity. It is not expensive and has been used for many years to disinfect all types of water, including drinking water. Calcium hypochlorite contains no isocyanuric acid, so it does not increase its level in swimming pool water.
