Do use the filter material EVERZIT® N as bio-filter layer for the removal of iron and manganese. Reverse osmosis (RO) is the main treatment step in seawater desalination. The membranes used in the reverse osmosis process are sensitive to particulate fouling, and therefore the raw water feed to them must be absolutely free of suspended particles. This is ensured by prefiltration of inlet seawater by EVERZIT® N in classical multilayer filter beds.

EVERZIT® Carbonate is a natural filter media manufactured from pure calcium carbonate (CaCO3). It is used for deacidification of groundwater or for remineralization following reverse osmosis processes. EVERZIT® Carbonate has high reactivity. When used in drinking water treatment, it increases the pH level and therefore facilitates iron and manganese removal.
