Introduction to the programme

The programme opens with a high-level keynote on climate change, El Niño and the region’s water future. Across three days, dedicated conference sessions will explore long-term delta planning, climate-resilient urban development, water finance, industrial water reuse and technology-enabled water management.

Through strategic discussions, specialist tracks and practical case studies, participants will gain insights into approaches for strengthening flood, drought, coastal and water-security resilience across cities, industries and communities.

Highlights:

  • Flagship conference: From Flood Risk to Flood Resilience
  • Three pillars: Planning, Financing and Implementation
  • Five specialist water resilience tracks
  • Dutch–Thai knowledge exchange
  • Government, industry and knowledge expertise

About the flagship conference: from Flood Risk to Flood Resilience

The flagship conference focuses on integrated water management at governance and implementation level. It examines how governments, financial organisations, knowledge institutions and industry can move from responding to flood risks towards building long-term resilience.

The programme is structured around three pillars:

  • Planning for Flood Resilience
  • Financing Flood Resilience
  • Implementing Flood Resilience

Topics include long-term delta planning, anticipatory water governance, climate finance, public-private partnerships and the delivery of resilient infrastructure.

Five specialist conference tracks
  • Coastal Resilience, Salinity and Desalination
Explore approaches to salinity intrusion, sea-level rise, marine pressures and coastal adaptation.
  • Water Quality, Treatment and Circular Water Management
Discover how treatment, reuse and circular solutions can support water quality and industrial resilience.
  • Drought Resilience and Long-Term Water Security
Examine drought planning, groundwater management and strategies for long-term water availability.
  • Nature-Based Resilience and Water-Sensitive Urban Development
Learn how cities and communities can work with water through resilient landscapes, urban design and nature-based solutions.
  • Digital Water Systems, Forecasting and Decision Intelligence
Explore smart monitoring, early-warning systems, artificial intelligence, spatial intelligence and digital decision-support tools.
Dutch–Thai knowledge exchange

The programme brings together Dutch and Thai knowledge through dedicated sessions on topics including Long-Term Delta Planning and Water as Leverage.

Contributions from government organisations, financial institutions, universities and water-sector experts will connect international expertise with the practical water challenges facing Thailand and Southeast Asia.
