BreakOuts: New online event launched by Aquatech Online

Thursday, 14 May 2020

It’s time to break out from the convention

Aquatech Online is launching a new live event series that is set to shake up the traditional and overcrowded webinar circuit.

Called BreakOuts, the events will feature engaging, live online panel discussions with industry thought leaders.

The format is informal, engaging and short (max 1 hour) and will be the inspiring break you’ve been yearning for in your working day.

Taking place on May 26th at 16:00-17:00 (CET), the first live event is expected to attract a crowd of around 500 delegates.

Bridging the themes of innovation and digitalisation from the Aquatech Innovation Forum, the online discussion will kickstart with utility, association and global engineering thought-leaders from across Europe and the Middle East.

Bridging physical to online events

Centred around interaction with audience voting, BreakOuts will answer the question of ‘How will water innovation look in a society being radically shaken by the coronavirus pandemic?’

Meet the panelists:

  • Julia Braune, General Manager, German Water Partnership, Germany
  • Jesper Kjelds, Chief Digital Officer, Aarhus Vand, Denmark
  • Meriem Riadi, Chief Digital Officer, SUEZ Group, France
  • Yossi Yaacoby, VP of Engineering, Mekorot, Israel
  • Moderator: Tom Freyberg, Content Director, Aquatech Global Events, UKM

As water continues to be a critical service to help reduce the spread of the coronavirus, digital solutions have become essential monitoring and communication tools for water companies around the world.

The panel will address how engineering projects are continuing, without face-to-face interaction as well as digitalisation: what’s in the pipeline?

Likeable, shareable and engaging content

Annette Bos, Global Director Aquatech, said: “We believe in the power of bringing people together and want to continue that with BreakOuts. Aquatech Online is a global hub for water professionals, driven by likeable, shareable and engaging content. The live event series will augment our strong online presence with regular, interactive discussions on key topics.”

Julia Braune, General Manager of the German Water Partnership (GWP), added: “Digital tools play a major role for learning each from other and exchanging know-how between actors from the water sector on an international level.

“They also play a major role in tackling the challenges posed by climate change, for example through predictive modeling. The corona-crisis underlines that there is a huge need for innovation and digitalisation. GWP is looking forward to discussing these topics and more in the first BreakOuts live session.“
