Alan Shapiro has been working on water, environmental, and sustainability issues for close to a decade: as a hydrogeologist, an environmental consultant, a science communication specialist, an instructor, and most recently as a water and cleantech venture advisor. Although he's worn many hats, his passion has always been the bigger picture - enabling systems change, coordination, and capacity-building around water issues.
Currently, he teaches in the Sustainable Business Leadership program at the BC Institute of Technology (BCIT) and runs an independent consultancy dedicated to supporting purpose-driven organizations on water, environmental, and sustainability challenges. He also advises water and cleantech entrepreneurs and ventures through the Climate Ventures: Earth Tech accelerator.
