Connecting Enterprises, NGOs and Government Departments to Promote China’s Water Stewardship

Shanghai, China – May XX, 2018 - “Industrial Water Leadership Forum and Technology Exchange 2018” will be held on the 31st of May, the first day of Aquatech, at the InterContinental Shanghai Hongqiao NECC. As part of the Aquatech program, the forum is jointly hosted by Ecolab, Global Water Intelligence (GWI), Water Stewardship Australia (AWS Asia Pacific) and Aquatech Global Events under this year’s theme of “Wastewater Recycle and Reuse”. China Water Risk (CWR) is the supporting organisation of the event. More than hundreds of guests were invited to attend the forum.

In 2015, China’s State Council published the Water Pollution Prevention & Control Action Plan (“Water Ten Rules”) to dramatically reduce water pollution and strengthen water management. With the 2017 deadline of several goals outlined in the Water Ten just passed, the country is taking stock on its progress towards meeting these targets. This year’s “Industrial Water Leadership Forum and Technology Exchange” will address the corporate’s challenges and discuss the new opportunities laid down by the Water Ten Rules.

The invited guests including policy makers, regulators, engineers, technology providers and the end users will participate in high-level panels and plenaries to map out the future of water stewardship. The keynotes’ spokespeople are from Chinese Academy for Environmental Planning, Global Water Intelligence, Ecolab and a leading end user of Water Stewardship. They will deliver the speeches about latest water stewardship policies, regulations and innovations.

During the two panel sessions, the speakers from water stewardship association, industrial end users and technology providers will focus on the topics of water reuse trends and corporate sustainability agenda as well as the technology solutions to maximize the value from wastes.

About CWR

China Water Risk (CWR) is dedicated to addressing business and environmental risks arising from China’s limited water resources. CWR aims to foster efficient and responsible use of China’s water resources by engaging the global business and investment communities. As such, it facilitates discussion amongst industry leaders, investors, experts & scientists on understanding and managing water risks so that we can make better decisions today for a water-secure tomorrow. At a micro-level CWR works toward embedding water risks into the financial valuation of a company thereby influencing capital flow to responsible users and on a macro-level by wedding provincial/ national water resource management to economic planning. In addition to this, we also explore global exposure risks through the Made in China supply chain. CWR has thus co-published policy briefs with government-related bodies in China and globally. It also has been commissioned by financial institutions to conduct research analysing the impact of water risks on the Power, Mining, Agricultural, Textiles and the Food & Beverage sectors. These briefs and reports have been considered ground-breaking and instrumental in understanding China’s water challenges. CWR is an initiative of the ADM Capital Foundation and is funded by the Rockfeller Brothers Fund and RS Group. Join the conversation at the China Water Risk website
