China's biggest water technology exhibition returns with more to offer than ever

Aquatech China, the country’s largest water technology exhibition, returns with its 2016 edition in just a few weeks’ time, on 15-17 June. Almost 2600 international and Chinese companies featured across 150,000 square metres of exhibition space will be there, ready to do business and to share with more than 75,000 visitors the latest developments for tackling China’s water issues. This year’s Aquatech China has a wider and more comprehensive programme than ever. It includes a high-level Industrial Water Leaders Forum delivered in partnership with Global Water Intelligence. Other special features will highlight technology innovations ready for the Chinese market and present solutions for the agricultural sector. Together with the diverse exhibitor presence, the whole event will target in particular China’s industrial, municipal, residential and commercial water needs.

Industrial Water Leaders Forum
An exciting new addition to this year’s programme will be the Industrial Water Leaders Forum. Aquatech China’s partner for this is the internationally-recognised publication and conference organiser Global Water Intelligence. The Forum will feature two invitation-only events. China’s Water Ten Rules are set to drive investment across a range of key industrial sectors as they strive to implement tougher pollution control. This will be the focus of one of the events, ‘China: Industrial Water Market Opportunities’, with delegates having an opportunity to get insights from prominent speakers including regulators, government officials, and end users. The other event, ‘One Belt One Road: Investment & Project Opportunities’, will provide an essential opportunity for high level executives to build business connections between international and Chinese businesses targeting international markets.

A focus on technology innovations
Aquatech events always deliver the latest technology innovations to visitors. This commitment will be strengthened at Aquatech China 2016 with the launch of the new China BlueTech Awards. Co-organised by Mandarin Environment and BlueTech Research, the awards aim to draw attention to international technologies with exciting potential in China. Seven shortlisted companies will be featured at a special Innovation Pavilion on the Aquatech China show floor, with the winners announced at a ceremony at the pavilion.

International expertise on show
Above all, Aquatech China offers a truly global experience for visitors to the show in terms of the water expertise and technologies on display to provide solutions in key market segments. The many companies who will be participating come from more than 30 countries, and there will be a special presence for the countries that are hosting national pavilions in the exhibition. The country pavilion programme helps bring visitors and exhibitors together, and for 2016 this will include pavilions from the Netherlands, Canada, South Korea and Spain. ‘The Netherlands has innovative new technologies and solutions for China’s water-related challenges, and we aim to match Dutch solutions to these challenges,’ comments Judith van de Bovenkamp, chief representative of the Netherlands Business Support Office in Wuhan, a joint organiser of the Dutch pavilion.

Exhibitor expertise will also be featured in the AquaStage presentation areas on the show flow. Free for all trade visitors to attend, the AquaStage programme is set to include participation by LG, AO Smith, Pentair, Angel, Dow, GE and Philips. As an extra feature for the show, UMORE Consulting is partnering with Aquatech China to host an agriculture and environment forum entitled AGRO2020. Up to approximately 10 international companies are expected to present their technologies.

An essential opportunity for doing business in China
“China continues to generate huge interest, because of the ongoing efforts to progress government-backed action on water issues and the growing capabilities of companies there,” says Thijs Jagtenberg, Product Manager Aquatech China at RAI Amsterdam. “This year’s Aquatech China promises to be the most valuable yet for visitors and participating companies, with extra opportunities to develop essential business connections. We look forward to contributing to their future success.”
