Record-breaking METS, Intertraffic and ISSA/INTERCLEAN

Successful year for Amsterdam RAI’s international trade events
Amsterdam RAI is focused on multi-day international exhibitions and conferences, with RAI-organised events being an important foundation for its overall success. In mid-November, the world’s largest trade exhibition in the field of equipment, materials and systems for the international marine leisure industry, the Marine Equipment Trade Show (METS), confirmed its status as the world’s leading B2B event of its kind. METS welcomed a record number of exhibitors and visitors to the RAI, including 6.5% more international visitors and 3% more international decision-makers.
The 2014 editions of the international exhibitions in the field of traffic technology and professional cleaning - Intertraffic and ISSA/INTERCLEAN respectively - also attracted more exhibitors and visitors to Amsterdam RAI than ever before. The year 2014 also saw the promising start of GreenTech, the new international trade exhibition for horticulture technology.
Additionally, the editions of RAI events (in the field of water technology, remanufacturing, traffic technology and professional cleaning) held in other countries also grew in size and scope. In 2014 Amsterdam RAI was (co-)organiser of ten international exhibitions outside of the Netherlands including two new events, namely ISSA/INTERCLEAN Istanbul and BigR/Rematec USA.
"All our international exhibitions remained stable or experienced a slight growth throughout the recession," says Theo Lingmont, Director International exhibitions at Amsterdam RAI. "Now that we are seeing signs of economic recovery, our events are breaking new records. This confirms that our exhibition titles are absolute A-brands in their sectors, and that the exhibition medium is more relevant than ever to the international world of business.”
Success of RAI-organised events
The success of RAI-organised events is partly established by having the latest product developments on the exhibition floor, facilitating face- to-face contact, ensuring a high level of knowledge exchange at the stands and during the supplementary conferences, generating the right atmosphere, and offering plenty of networking and socialising opportunities. The fact that Amsterdam RAI is a highly valued, professional business partner further supports the success of an event. At the ISSA/ INTERCLEAN in Orlando in early November, RAI Exhibitions Director Ids Boersma was awarded the prestigious Jack D. Ramaley Industry Distinguished Service Award by the ISSA Board of Directors. ISSA presented him with this prize based on the long-term and highly successful relationship as well as the impact the ISSA/INTERCLEAN shows have had on the industry. This distinction once again underlines how much Amsterdam RAI is valued as a business partner.
