In combination with participation in the Holland Pavilion, companies are invited to join a 4-day business trip inland; Along the Yangtze river to the cities of Nanjing, Wuhan and Chongqing. These so called ‘second tier’ cities are less well known internationally thus offering multiple opportunities for companies in water technology and water management. In a country where the growing demand for water exceeds the supply, the Chinese water sector is facing great challenges. At the same time, industry and agriculture needs more and more water to fulfil the growing demands of the population. The Chinese government realizes that to meet the increasing demand, liberalization of the water sector is needed, as well as the adaption of foreign technology and expertise.
